Sports such as football and athletics greatly model an individual’sbusiness traits. Sports are based on rules and stamina among otherfactors, which make sports people reliable in business (VEC, 2011).This essay discusses traits that I have acquired by being in sports,and the most likely candidate I would consider for employment basedon sports experience.
Question#1: Traits Developed
Traits I haveacquired by participating in sports comprise perseverance,punctuality, courage, work ethics, and flexibility. One has toundergo strenuous exercises and ensure punctuality before the actualcompetition, which improves mental endurance necessary for business.In business, one has to conduct a survey to determine the viabilityof a business that calls for perseverance. Sports have told me theimportance of ethics. During sport, a player may injure youaccidently. One has to withhold emotions to avoiding engaging in afight and being fined. As a result, I am capable of composing myselfand deal with complaining clients in business harmoniously.
Differing exercisesfrom my coach have enhanced my flexibility capacity, and hence I amable to adjust to various changes in the business.
Question#2: Employment Candidate of Choice
I would prefer anindividual who has sports experience for a position of ticket salesoffice. A person who has once engaged in sports is capable ofenduring for a long time (VEC, 2011). Consequently, he/she can servea large number of people quickly, and answer fans’ questionsregarding a given sport. An individual who has never participated inany sport despite impressive academic credentials is likely toencounter many difficulties in ticket sale office. For instance,during major events, a high number of fans’ may make oneemotionally disturbed due to numerous questions asked.
In summary, sportsimprove the character of an individual making one easily compatiblein many businesses. Some essentials business traits acquired insport include perseverance, reliability, and punctuality.
