TheArtist Within
I created a finger painting together with my daughter, and it was themost amazing thing. I used liquid media in ensuring that the finalresult matched our expectations. In detail, we used seven differenttypes of paint in ensuring that we captured the idea quite perfectly. In fact, we swirled the colors used earlier in ensuring that theycreated a proper art on the paper that we had used. The combinationof the colors resulted in a dark blue object that seemed more like acumulus cloud. The outcome revealed the effort we had placed inmaking it better. In the beginning, I had various paints withdifferent colors, and I did not know that they could have integratedto create something beautiful. In response, the outcome was thecumulus cloud that had multiple lines illustrating the movement ofour fingers in creating the object. More important, I chose paintingsince there is a special feeling when one mixes the ingredient, comesup with an idea and finally completes it. The fact that the simpletasks result in something more amazing is also part of the hugeoutput. I used the simple and traditional brushes in painting thecumulus cloud figure. Painting is also a better form of expressingwhat I might have in mind at that particular time. In most cases, itis useful in highlighting love and the truth that will assist inshowing how I express myself. Hence, the painting was a final productof my thoughts and what I believe was an appreciation of natureinstead. The painting also shows our ability as artists to observenature, recording the various events and express our versions of theactivities. In the long-run, it reveals that we understand oursurrounding and have mastered the way that the society works, andwhat makes it better.
The finger painting was a manifestation of the different colors, andit resulted in the cumulus cloud. In this case, the image met thefunction of the art for delight that shows how artists love toexpress their feelings (Frank, 2013). More important, the finalproduct revealed how nature is important and plays a huge role in thesociety. It is also a way of appreciating aesthetics and shows howcumulus clouds are a crucial part during spring. The experience alsoled to my daughter screaming with delight since she felt great thatshe had achieved such outcomes. The piece of art was beauty andinspiring to see that the simple act of swirling different paintsresulted in a cumulus cloud. The visual delight is crucial in makingsure that we are able to master the essence of nature in our lives.Even if it does not have any concrete meaning that might relate tothe social wellbeing, it still shows how aesthetics is important. Some artists are fond of using others forms of nature such rivers, forests, mountains or even when the sun is setting. Besides that, thepainting also showed art for self-expression since it showed theinner feelings we had at that particular time. In particular, thepainting showed the aesthetic urge I had before creating the piece ofart. The image was a way of appreciating the clouds and the huge rolethey play in the society as well. To some extent, it also capturedthe harmonious balance of seasons and how they are crucial in thedetermining the wellbeing of the people. The way that the colorsfused to create the final product showed the efforts we had placed inmaking it more presentable and appealing.
Chapter two has highlighted a number of images that are under variouspurposes that the art achieves. In this case, one of the pictures issomehow similar to my painting while another one is quite different.Figure 2.1 illustrates Nocturne: Blue and Gold-Old Battersea Bridgeby James Whistler that was created in the period 1872-1875 alsomatches the finger painting (Frank, 2013). More important, the artcaptures various aspects at once and asserts that nature embracesbeauty. In particular, it has a bridge, sea, buildings, skies and thefireworks too. The combination of the different aspects shows the hownature is appealing and presentable as well. In fact, the paintingalso balances colors quite efficiently since none of them is quitedistinct from the other ones. In particular, the arrangement is notin contrast to the harmonious balance of the conditions in thepainting. It also matches with my finger painting since it alsoappreciates the calmness that nature has. My art had also integratedmultiple colors that resulted in a figure that looks like a cumuluscloud and it was blue in color. On the other hand, Figure 2.41highlights The Death of General Wolft, 1170 by Benjamin West that isentirely different from my finger painting (Frank, 2013). Thepainting is art for commemoration while mine was made for delight.Hence, it captures the death of the soldier for the future use sincepeople are able to understand how the particular event occurred. Thefinger painting does not offer such functions since it presents thecalmness that the clouds illustrate. For instance, one can look at acumulus cloud and determine that it is something that is beautifuland amazing. Based on the similarities and differences, it is clearthat pieces of art meet certain different functions that are uniqueon their own.
