TheAdoption and Sustainability of Green Technology
TheAdoption and Sustainability of Green Technology
Mostpeople regard green technology as a new phenomenon. This is not thecase as green technology is associated with varieties oftechnological processes developed towards environmental conservation, repair, and even revival of damaged ecosystems (Patel, 2016). Forinstance, windmills, which essentially harness the power of strongwinds, were in use during the 18thCentury within Europe and the Americas for food production. However, research endeavors conducted in the 1980’s proved thatindustrialization had led to massive levels of environmentaldegradation (Patel, 2016). As such, this brought to the world’sattention the need for concerted efforts towards conserving theenvironment lest future generations face high chances of extinction.Given the magnitude of the issue at hand, significant trends areemerging in today’s political, economic, and climatologicalenvironments as the future inclines towards green technology. Thispaper seeks to illustrate how green technology will affect familylifestyles, personal and professional aspects of the lives ofordinary citizens in future.
Greentechnology has a number of synonyms such as greentech, clean orenvironmental technology (Bonds & Downey, 2015 Kukreja, 2014).Green technology pertains to the use of processes aimed at greaterprotection of the environment like environmental monitoring, technological innovations, environmental science, and green chemistry(Patel, 2016). Green technology is also construed to relate tosustainable technology for generating clean energy such asphotovoltaics and wind turbines. Environmental technology or greentechnology is also associated with electronic instruments developedtowards advancing sustainable management of the Earth’s limitedresources. In this regards, the adoption of the technology will shapemany processes and early adopters will benefit greatly.
Aspeople become eco-cognizant, the notion of being green in all areasof their lives is more fundamental. Dwindling oil stocks andincreased prices will force firms to develop innovative greentechnologies thus, electricity cars will become a reality and muchprominent in the future. Bonds and Downey (2015) posit that aligninginnovation especially software towards green technology will helpbalance energy usage, make activities eco-friendly, and combatclimate change. Since the field of green energy is burgeoning rapidlyit is a decent area of speculation or investment for new and currententities. These firms can invest in hydrogen cells, supercomputers, cloud computing, and efficient or electricity cars. For any firm thatwants to make advantage or obtain good returns in the future, greeninnovation is the way to go. In fact, it is critical to note thatresources are limited and are diminishing quickly hence, the fieldis vital and urgent.
Recenterratic weather patterns underscore that global warming is aphenomenon with the potential to adversely change planet Earth(Kukreja, 2014). As such, governments and major organizations haveopted towards green technology-oriented initiatives, which arechanging the way energy, and the environment is perceived today. Moreso, the massive developments associated with the innovativedevelopment of green technologies imply that future generation willhave to be fully reliant on environmental technology applications forsustenance. For instance, recycling technologies, alternative energy, water purification, sewage treatment, energy conservation, airpurification and environmental repair, as well as, revival, will befully integrated into all economic processes (Kukreja, 2014).
Today, the world is experiencing imbalances in waste management andecosystem thus, the technology will help greatly in ensuringsustainability. Assuming that the country wholeheartedly aims at theoptimized living standard for its upcoming generations, then, greentechnology may well turn into one of the most lucrative sectors ofthe economy. For instance, the use of specific green devices withinorganizations is attracting tax benefits of up to a third ofinstallation costs (Bonds & Downey, 2015). On a similar note, theeconomy will reap significant benefits accruing from a healthypopulation owing to a cleaner environment. Some of the diseasescontributing to lost man-hours are caused by polluted environments. As organizations embrace green-tech, employee wellness will be hugelyimproved translating to optimized human productivity. On the otherhand, advances in green innovation will affect my career andlifestyle greatly and positively. To ensure sustainability in areasof architecture, carbon capture, and automobiles, I will have toundertake thorough research to understand how green technologies workand shape up. I will have to engage extensively with specialists inthe energy and construction sectors to comprehend the best way tointegrate the innovation into smart homes, for example, inconstructing passive buildings that do not require any additionalemissions. I will need to look for employment in firms that haveadopted or utilize the technology in any way to ensure I am not leftout in taking advantage of any value that the innovation mightdevelop.
Inconclusion, organizations reliant on a thriving economy to remainafloat will fully uphold corporate social responsibility. This willultimately translate to people fully committed to a healthyenvironment. Citizens and organizations will be knowledgeable on theway to favorably employ nature for maximized economic gain andoptimized living standards. As such, green technology points to thefact that future generation will live in an environment that is muchgreener than it is today.
