They are three major types of Sociology Theories that areSymbolic interactionism, Functionalism, andConflict Theory they all explain on howsociety influence each other and vice versa offerand how people relates to the environment(Woodiwiss, 2015).
Symbolicinteractionism distinguishes social problems as arising from thecontactof the individuals which matters a lot in variousrespects. On the other hand, verbal conversations arespokenwhich serve as predominant which makes symbols to interpreted withevident. Communicationis sharing of symbols between multiple people who can eitherinterpolate the words (Routledge, 2011).Asymbolicperspectivesuchas shaking hands is a sign of welcoming and friendship which is anindication that one is the kindand polite who could feel comfortableinsharing of ideas. On the other side a person who may refuse to shakehand reflect a sign of insult, dislike while the other party willinterpolate the same way. Symbolic interactionism is a social orderbecause individuals learn with different representation such asshaking of hands of which these symbols may apply in variouskinds of scenario.
Thefunctional aspectwhich also called functionalism it is interdependent,and hence fourth contributes to the society function as well(Woodiwiss, 2015).The government also provides education to children which in turns payindirect taxes of where the governmentuses the tax to sustain it. The different kind and parts of thesociety they are primarily composed of social class and institutionwhich is designed to fill different end-all parts that dependon each other. The functional perspective is achieved and mainlyfocuses on explaining the working of the social orders (Woodiwiss,2015). Functionalism does not motivate people to take more activerole in such as changing their social changes as it is wanted. It isbelieved that functionalismpeople are held together by social consensus in other words cohesionwhere members of the society agree upon and work efficientlytogether to achieve their goals in the societytoa great.
Conflict theory distinguishes men as thedominant gender which subordinate women inso that they can maintain privilege and the power. In also focuses onthe negative attitude and changing nature of the people which isdiverse from functionalist who avoids social change and they believepeople can cooperate and affect social conflict theorists. In contextto gender, it argues that men always try tomaintain power and privileges to discriminate women thus men aredominant group while women are asubordinating group. Historically in someculture men are known to hold world’sassets until very latest women were not voting or owning any propertythus making them dependent on men.
