Myname is Tonnette Samuels from Jamaica, and I have lived and worked inthe United States as well as back in my home country. I achieved sixCXC and enrolled in the Bethlehem Teachers College where I graduatedwith a teaching diploma. After a brief practice in the educationprofession, I decided to further my academic qualification by joininga higher institution of learning. Therefore, the AmericanInternational University (AIU) in Florida accepted my application fora Bachelor in Business Administration. The skills obtained at AIUbrought about a change that boosted me to enter the business sector. However, I found my knowledge limited in the management of people. Therefore, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Human Resourceto increase the capacity to handle both the management andadministration assignment at the workplace.
Currently,I am working with a real estate company as the assistant manager, charged with the responsibility of organizing the workers andresources to achieve the organizational business goals. Equally, during my part time, I work at a restaurant to earn more skills inmanaging businesses and people as a resource. Professionally, Istarted working as a teacher handling different cases of studentsback in Jamaica. The process exposed me to the need to increase myknowledge in administration. After graduating with a bachelor, I havehandled various business supervision jobs as the assistant manager. The work entails creating linkages within an organization to ensureachievement of company goals and objective. Furthermore, the need tounderstand the dynamics of the human resource department pushed me topursue a master’s degree as a way of achieving personalactualization. Eventually, I would like to start and build mybusiness with the skills I have gained through education andthroughout my career. I believe that combining the businessadministration and human resource management knowledge will empowerme to accomplish my personal aspirations.
