Roleof Leadership, Stewardship, and Strengths of Minds in our Lives
Roleof Leadership, Stewardship, and Strengths of Minds in our Lives
Inthe society today, various leaders come with their different stylesthat they hope to implement with the aim of achieving success asappropriate leaders in the community. Therefore, to achieve successin various sections of business in the present world, the presence ofstrong leadership technologies and techniques helps in a significantmanner. A leader is defined as an individual who offers direction andguidance to others with the aim of achieving an objective or goal inthe society1.Thus, leadership is a contributory factor for consideration.Institutions and individuals need to consider the aspect that havingan appropriate leadership style will be helpful in the company andachievement of results.
Ananalysis in the previous times with examples of leaders includes theconcentration of Jesus as a leader. Jesus while on earth had the roleand served as a leader of the people and also to his disciples. Therefore, as Christians who practice the aspect and culture ofleadership, they have to develop an understanding of how Jesus was aleader o earth and implement the characteristic and process2.The research conducted on the kind of leadership style demonstratedby Jesus in the land shows that Jesus was a servant leader. Thispaper explains the leadership style of Jesus, as the servant leaderwho engaged in the aspect of leading others using his or her mind.Further, it explains how a servant leader leads people with the mindresulting in an effective governance style.
Consequently, another aspect of note involves the idea that servant leaders engagein the application and accommodation of diverse opinions that areoriginated from the group of people that they are leading. A servantleader will value the views and ideas from other individuals who helpin the regular contribution of the success of the leadership process.Other characteristics of servant leadership styles and leaders arethat they assist in the cultivation of the culture of trust among thepeople they are leading and also participate in developing otherindividuals3.Therefore, while discussing servant leadership, then there has to bea mention of Jesus Christ as the role model for the servantleadership style.
Jesusas a Servant Leader
Itis evident that Jesus was the servant leader based on thecharacteristics that were seen in Him and the role he played while hewas on earth. These include the aspects such as He was a leader whowas voluntary and served as a servant where He was able to besubmissive to the highest purpose4.Moreover, Jesus as a leader used His power to develop the trust andinfluence of other individuals and followers through the leadershipprocess. Jesus showed love and the desire need to serve others whileHe was also a teacher among the supporters. These are quite diversecharacteristics of servant leadership, which Jesus Christ was able toshow that are often used as examples of servant leadership.
Therefore, individuals should subscribe to the governance style to ensure thatthey can improve and develop success. Notable characteristics of theleadership style that Jesus Christ showed were the aspect of leadingusing strength in mind and aspects of stewardship. These leadershiptechniques resulted in the establishment of motivation among thefollowers. The society today has transformed and changed in adifferent manner which has seen the changes in different leadershipstyles as the ultimate aim of having leaders deviated from thesatisfaction of the followers to profit generation aspects.
Thebook, ordering your private world is an interesting one to read whichdepicts the characteristic of appropriate leadership techniques thatindividuals should start focusing on and change. Ordering yourprivate world is a book that first begins the explanation of how themodern world has changed and the shape that it has taken.Interestingly, the book states that there is a rapid pace of theworld, which is taking place among individuals. It is hindering theachievement of replenishing aspects of spiritual nature5.Thus, due to the challenges facing the modern world in regards toachieving spiritual nourishment, the remaining issue is that whatpropels and fuels society individuals are the minimal remnants oftalents, momentum is slow and natural gifting.
Readingthe book for identifying the issues for paper discussion was aninteresting aspect. It is important to note that individuals who arelazy in the society should find the time and read the book due to thefactor that it attempts to give them a clear indication of life6.Moreover, despite the book being appropriate to the lazy individualsin the society, members who tend to think that they are busy in theworld and that they can never find time to do other things shouldread the book.
Roleof the Book, Ordering your Private World
Theprimary objective of the book is to provide teaching and valuableinformation on how members should plan their private life which has adirect translation on how individuals should also hold their prayerlives. The book also discusses aspects of prayer and reading theBible, but the discussions are not in details7.Hence, while reading this book, individuals should understand thatthey need to develop their time with God and comprehend how to findan appropriate time to rest and appropriately organize their thoughtsespecially during leadership where they need to put God first in allattempts or exertions.
Consequently,it is evident that when planning about your time, individuals shouldensure that they have a flexible plan and avoid having things done ina rush. However, while planning and communicating about the quitetime, there should be considerable attention given to thisperspective. The book will help individuals in properly planning andorder their life in an appropriate manner for example through readingthe chapter titled as Golden Cage an individual will be able to learnand understand the characteristics of a driven person and compare itto the current aspect of a non-driven person8.People will have better understanding especially on aspects of beinga better-driven person towards achieving goals and objectives.
Importanceof Strength of the Mind
Asa leader and individuals, it is important to exercise the strength ofthe mind in all the activities that one is undertaking in the modernlife. There is a chapter dealing with the aspect on how an individualis required to keep his or her mind active as a Christian. Thechapter is an important piece especially in the ministry history asit helps in the improvement and understanding of the importance of ahuman mind9.The chapter gives a thought on how to improve the mind and developappropriate character for example, in the aspect of leadership, therole of the strength of the mind.
Accordingto the book, it is important for individuals especially Christians toengage in the proper exercising of the mind basing on the fact thatGod was keen and took the time to create us in His image. Assessingthe aspect that we were created in the Image and likeness of Godindicates that we are endowed with everything that is similar to whatGod has and in this aspect, we have the mind of Christ`s. By having amind of Christ, then Christians should be one of the most creativepeople who exist in the world10.These are indicators of how Christian leaders should be in the worldand how followers should evaluate the importance of having thestrength of the mind.
However,in the modern society and life, changes have taken place asindividuals forget about the importance of the mind and decide tofollow strong-willed people who do not depict the application and useof the strength of the mind11.Moreover, as followers of a leader, the modern society has made usfollow people in a blind nature.
Reflectionof Strengths of Minds
Areflection of the chapters gives an opinion that as human beings, andthen it is important for us to use our minds especially when we areengaging in cultures. The importance of exercising the strengths ofour minds especially close to Godliness is that it helps us to bestrong in the culture that is required by God.Therefore,it is evident that the failures of such practice will lead us to havea culture that is not morally accepted and expected12.The chapter goes ahead and uses the Bible on how the Israelitesfailed to use the strengths of their minds and in the end, they weresucked into the culture especially of the people who were aroundthem, a culture God never wanted.
Thereare books such as Judges where the culture and requirement that Godwanted his people to abide by were left, and people ended up livingin a way that they saw right according to their opinion. Furtherexamples listed give an opinion on how the churches that did exist inthe New Testament never followed the commands of God and letthemselves open to being carried away with the culture flow that wastaking place in the region13.Thus, the strength of the mind is an example of how we as individualshave to understand what is being taught as Christians and ensure thatthere is an adherence to such cultures avoiding being carried away bythe cultures of the world.
Inleadership, the strength of the mind is another importantconsideration as it will help a firm or a leader to maintain hisculture while leading other people. The importance of considering astrength of the mind while having leadership activities is that ithelp the employees in the corporation to become creative andestablish a high culture that helps in current generation of resultsin the company14.Therefore, even if there is severe competition taking place in thebusiness, the leader will believe in the culture established in theinstitution and avoid being sucked into other cultures beingexhibited by other firms.
Moreover, from the chapter, it can be deduced that the factors which have aninfluence on the collapse of the present society include the mannerin which the community individuals use the available leisure time.People are engaging themselves in recreational activities which theyfail to understand if indeed these events are building them or in theend, they are being destroyed by the leisure activities15.Therefore, in this aspect, to have a better understanding of thepositive impacts that are derived from the recreational activities, individuals should ensure that they employ the strengths of theirminds towards analysis of these scenarios. The result will bedevising activities that help people move towards positive aspectsand not causing a backwards movement.
Therefore,as we use our strengths of mind, individuals need to serve God withall their minds, soul, strength, and heart. Thus, by doing so, wewill be living as it is required by God. There are differentteachings which help us understand on how to relate to differentindividuals in the society who have different characteristics.Individuals need to be balanced when handling other people in thecommunity and show16.The importance of understanding the diverse characteristics of peoplewill limit the nature of being swayed out of control.
Thebook also explains the understanding of how stewardship should bedone by the individuals who are called. Stewardship is a form ofleadership that ensures an efficient planning and allocation of theexisting resources to achieve objectives and results. Therefore, asindividuals, there is a need to practice ethical leadership that isflanked with the characteristics of stewardship. The book OrderingYour Private Lifegives an example of John and how he had a better understanding ofstewardship. Therefore, leaders should know the concept ofstewardship which will help them in the achieving of effectiveleadership styles17.As followers of Christ and while changing our lives, stewardshipshould be a form of guidance and part of the consideration.
Anotherfactor to consider is that we should understand who we are as afollower of Christ and engage in living according to the requiredvirtues and values. Using the example of John, he was able to knowhis identity as often he told the members who were following him andasking more about him. John told them that he is not Christ whichshows that John had a better understanding of his identity18.Therefore, the character should be installed in other people in thatthey need to have a better understanding of who they are to avoid thecreation of confusion when explaining about themselves. Moreover, inleadership, institutions need to have an identity that makes themstand out from other institutions.
Thebook ordering your private life is one that has life teachings andguidelines to individuals. The key explanations in the book thatindividuals will be able to read and understand includes theimportance use of the strengths of mind, the importance of allowingappropriate use of leisure time that builds people rather than causesa backwards movement. Moreover, the book makes people have aself-reflective on their personal lives and the way Christ wantedpeople to live19.Thus, if they are living on the wrong, they will change their waysand live according to how Christ’s would have wanted20.The book‘s primary objective is to guide people on how to plan andrearrange their lives accordingly.
