My primary research interest is in developing optimal approaches todesign and operational management of supply chains where quality, costs, lead time, flexibility, logistics and risks are some of thebusiness factors considered. The research will focus on the impact ofsupply chain on various business components. It will also be prudentto examine the responsibilities of the senior management inregulating inventory (Christopher, 2016). Furthermore, the researchwill investigate whether online platforms can enhance the efficiencyof a firm’s supply chain management.
In addition, I am interested in exploring operational issues in anextended business enterprise that facilitates sound managementplanning and robust decision-making. Some of these operational issuesinclude the amount of capital, the work ethic of employees, andemerging labor needs. This approach enables improvements in workerproductivity, operational efficiency, customer service, and productor service quality. Besides, the research will examine how to satisfydiverse groups such as shareholders, clients, staff members, andlocal communities (Christopher, 2016). The in-depth analysis willincorporate the impact of these actions on the firm’s capital. Therefore, firms in all industries could improve their operations byadhering to the proposed guidelines.
Indeed, the research will focus on how online platforms can enableorganizations to ensure proper supply chain management. Integrationamong operations is of primary concern in such exploration.Developing an optimal approach to design and operation management ofsupply chain will need to focus on several factors. For example, theresearch will examine the impact of time, availability of resources, quality, lead time, and risks. Therefore, these efforts requirestudying and identifying a design alternative that combines thesecharacteristics at an optimum level.
