Anorganization structure is an important tool that shows thearrangement of different positions in a company as well as the dutiesthat are handled by various employees of different levels. It alsoelaborates on the element of superiority, accountability, andreporting. It addresses the concept of a clash of responsibilities bymaking people aware of their expectation of the company and theextent to which they could go as pertains to carrying out of duties.In such a case, it helps to bring in the element of harmony that isnecessary for the operations of a given firm and the kind of outcomethat may be desired from the same. This paper aims to design theorganizational structure for Apple Inc. with the focus of showingwhether it is effective or not.

Appleis headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Cook, who is incharge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. Hebelongs to the first tier of the firm, which is focused on thecreation of strategic goals that the Apple aims for to experiencegrowth. The second tier of the organization structure is made up ofvarious operational managers who roll out the specific goals andpolicies that may be passed on by the CEO (The Official Board, 2016).One of such persons is the Chief Financial Officer, Luca Maestri, whois in charge of the various financial elements that relate to thecompany. There is also the Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Williams,who is more focused on coordinating the various activities of thecompany to ensure they are in unison and drive towards theachievement of the various goals that the company could haveformulated. He is also in charge of different liaison activities thatthe companies may be associated with at a given time.
Thereis also the software engineering manager who oversees the creation ofthe software and ensures that it meets the required standards beforeit is launched to the market. He also helps to make sure that thecompany advances with software development by ascertaining that thesoftware developed can address various problems that come up andpresents a great challenge upon people to deal with them accordingly(The Official Board, 2016). Other individuals who are part of thesecond tier of the organization structure of Apple include themanagers in charge of design, legal, operations, marketing, retailand online stores, hardware engineering and hardware technologies,among others.
Thethird tier of the firm is made of middle line managers who are incharge of communicating the information passed on from the topmanagers to department heads in a bid to ensure proper coordinationof activities in the company (The Official Board, 2016). They includethe chief investment officer, the mergers and acquisition officer,the manager in charge of operations, the manager in charge ofsoftware development, the creative manager, manager in charge ofsoftware technology, and the manager in charge of the special designproject. All the employees in this category work in their capacitiesto ensure that the company achieves success.
Inconclusion, the organizational structure Apple is quite effectivegiven the fact that it provides an ease of coordination among thedifferent members and levels of employees. It also allows for thesmooth communication of policies from top management to other membersof the organization.
