The colony would be located close to Baker Island. People from allraces would be allowed to become part of the community. In thisrespect, residents would descend from areas such as Europe, Africa,and Asia. The Swansea Colony would be an ideal dwelling place due toits unique blend of inhabitants.
All residents would be required to participate in certain culturalpractices. For example, men and women would be required to dress injeans and other durable styles of clothing. All parents would berequired to ensure that their children develop a reading culture.Moreover, each family would be required to eat together and discussprivate matters. Nonetheless, drugs and other intoxicating substanceswould be prohibited. Curfews would also be imposed to increase thesafety of the community.
The women in the colony would be required to perform housekeepingduties. In this regard, they would have to do laundry, prepare food,and clean their homes. Teenagers would be required to sweep thestreets and collect all litter. On the other hand, males in thecommunity would use guns to participate in hunting activities.
The community would endeavor to be self-sustaining by producingsufficient resources for all residents. Agricultural products wouldinclude crops such as maize, wheat, sugarcane, and beans. Theseproducts would be traded to neighboring communities to earn revenues.The colony would also pursue mining as an economic activity to enticeother settlers.
Indeed, Swansea Colony would be an ideal community due to its diversecomposition. Women would be required to handle housekeeping dutieswhile the men would provide security. Consequently, Swansea Colonywould cater for the needs of its members.
