Asa young child, I wasinterested in becoming a medicalpractitioner. The desire was propagatedby home and school environmentsand by the time I was joining College, I had already set my goals inthe field of medicine as an organic chemistry research specialist. Onlya career in the fieldof medicine can enable meachieveall my goals including my long term of project of giving back to thesociety.
TheReasons for Choosing the Field of Medicine
Eversince I was a small child, I have beenexposedto medical professionals including my favorite auntie, a closeelderly cousin, and a long term neighbor. These three people have auniquepersonality that I have found quite influential and attractive. Forinstance, of all my relatives, my auntis the most successful both financially and in career wise. Shestarted as a nurse and later became a county medical officer. As aclose friend to my parents, she became my mentor ever since I was atlower classes. As a result, my interests in medicine as an organicchemistry researcher has developed significantly.
Overthe years, I have understood thatproviding medical services to the people avails a chance to connectwith the society. Thereby helping understandtheir medical challenges and the evidence-basedprojects one can initiate to help. Evidently, I have established astrongconnection with peopleliving with Autismduring one of my voluntary period atthe Universityof Texas atSan Antonio (UTSA). During this period, I learnedthat Autism is a big challenge especially to the people living inlow-incomeareas. Also, in the community I come from, there is a wide gapbetween people’s medical needs and the existing medical services. Forthis reason, there is a largeproportion of people who areleftwithout medical care. Such experience and observation have influencedmy long-termgoal of establishing a community medical center aimed at providingaffordable health care to the community. I am confident that taking amedicine course will enable metoachieve my career, social responsibility, and personal goals.

In particular, Ihave achieved knowledge and skills through learning and consequentlypassed my examination. Such performance, however, hasbeen facilitated by influential people including teachers, myparents, and my supervisors. Also,I have familiarized myself with medical research methods over thepast few years and participated in several research projects. Inthese projects, I have come to believe that solutions to differentmedical issues facing most communities in America are possible.
Ihave participated indifferent Volunteer outreach projects in medical institutions andhospitals in New York in the past five years. Consequently, I havegained advancedknowledge and skills that have strengthened my interests in taking amedicine course. Noticeably, experience in each program ischaracterizedby acquisition of new skills, knowledge, connection to the people, and a discovery of a possible solution to an observed issue.
Finally,my personal philosophy of serving the community has come with greatdeterminations and motivation. Also,it has fueled up my interests to achieve the ultimate goal ofestablishing a charity organization that will provide care to thepeople in the medically underserved areas. For this reason, I amwilling to go deeper heights to achieve this goal.

However, in my first year of college studies, Igot near perfect grades. Thiswasthe time I was adjusting to the college life. Also,I suffered homesickness before I established afriendlyrelationship with members of the class. Moreover, outdoor activitiestook a significantamount of my time before I learnedto effectively manage it while some budgetary issues limited mylearning resources.
