Impactsof Information Technology (IT) on Enterprises
InformationTechnology (IT) has become a popular development in many sectors ofthe society. Many people have embraced ICT because of its novelty. The use of IT has positively impacted on business organizations inmany ways. First, IT has helped in minimizing the costs ofproduction. In addition, IT has played a significant role in theimprovement of the efficiency and quality of production. Finally, IThas been instrumental in increasing the profit margin of businessesthat apply it. In this research, measures will be taken to study theeffects of IT on enterprises. Whereas the main problem of theresearch is to find out the impacts of IT in enterprises, the purposeof the study will be to analyze how effective IT has been in theenterprises. The study is quite significant because it will producefindings that will be relied upon to fill the missing gap inknowledge on IT.

Impactsof IT on Enterprises
Sinceits invention, Information Technology (IT) has made numerous impactsin the society. A large number of enterprises have resorted to theuse of IT because it has numerous benefits. Apart from helping in theimprovement of efficiency and quality of production, IT can behelpful in minimizing operation costs and maximizing profitability. This notwithstanding, the field of IT has not been exploited byscholars fully. This research is designed to fill the missing gap inthe impacts of IT on enterprises.
Backgroundof the Topic
Theuse of modern IT in operations has benefited many enterprises indifferent ways(Ward & Peppard, 2016).First, IT has helped in the reduction of operation costs because itrequires limited human resources. Besides, IT has helped in theimprovement of the quality of production. Lastly, IT has played asignificant role in the increment of profitability because it notonly reduces costs of production but also helps in enhancing theefficiency in service delivery to the satisfaction of clients(Mithas & Rust, 2016).The research seeks to understand how IT can enhance the performanceof organizations.
Toconduct this research, the study will be designed to respond to thefollowing research question: What are the impacts of IT onenterprises? This is the main question that the research will seek toaddress. Therefore, when designing the research, all the activitieswill be done to effectively respond to this question(Venkatesh, Thong & Xu, 2012).
Statementof the Problem
Theentire research will be based on the application of IT by businessenterprises but narrowed down to its effects. If this is done, theresearchers will be guided on how to carry out the research so as toget the most relevant answers to the main problem. IT is a broad areawhose study should be narrowed down to a specific component for whichdetailed research can be conducted(Waser, 2012).
Thepurpose of this research is to assess the effects of InformationTechnology (IT) on enterprises. For a very long time, businessorganizations have had to incorporate the use of modern IT in theirday-to-day operations. Although it is recommended that businessesshould be responsive to the latest technological innovations, somebusiness organizations have not embraced IT (Fitzsimmons &Fitzsimmons, 2013).
Significanceof the Study
Thestudy is quite significant because it is based on an area that hasnot been fully exploited by researchers. Despite conducting a lot ofstudies in the field of IT, there remains a wide gap on whatcontributions IT has been bringing to the enterprises(Tran, Le Ngoc Thanh & Phuong, 2013).This is what the study will seek to fill up exactly. At the sametime, the research will be expected to produce reliable findings thatwill help in providing adequate knowledge in the field of IT. Itsresults will be used by scholars who are interested in conductingfurther research in the field of IT(Prajogo & Olhager, 2012).Finally, the study results will be quite significant to thepolicy-makers who are responsible for the formulation, adoption, andimplementation of IT-related policies in the society. The adoption ofsuch informed and research-based policies can play a significant rolein improving the use of IT in the enterprises(Davenport, 2013).
Thisis an invaluable research that has lots of contributions to make tothe field of IT. With its leading research question, the study willbe designed and conducted using a well-organized methodology. Itsfindings will be relied upon to fill the missing gap and presentreliable findings to be used by future researchers and policy makerswho are interested in transforming IT(Schwalbe, 2015).Through this research, new methodologies will be applied anddisseminated to other researchers to apply in their studies(Shaw, 2012).So, it is a useful study that has a lot of benefits not only to theresearcher but other scholars and like-minded IT stakeholders.
