Afinancial institution like a bank needs advanced integrated systemsin its computers and technology to run efficiently for the benefit ofthe customers, employees and the bank itself due to the rapidlychanging technological environment (Obay, 2014). Some of the needsand requirements in a financial institution are as follows:
Since the institutions need an online presence for marketing purposes they would require a good powerful browser that would still run even if jammed. The best would be the latest versions of firefox, chrome, edge, for Windows and safari 7.0 for Mac.
Within the institution there will be constant exchange of files. For this either the File transfer Light or the File transfer Classic is applicable. The former is simple to use and needs no installation (Obay, 2014). File transfer Classic requires installation. The major difference between the two is that the former works for all browsers and only one file can be downloaded at a time whereas the latter works for specific browsers that support plug-ins and several files can be downloaded at the same time
A TCP/IP protocol is needed to handle communication within the institution. An Internet Service Provider can be contracted to provide internet connection however.
For sending and receiving of files a C: drive will be needed (Obay, 2014). This is always pre-installed in computers when manufactured.
The screen resolution has to be very clear. If a computer with a 17 inch screen is to be used then the recommended resolution will be 1024*768 pixels.
For the technical requirements one will need nothing lower than a computer with Intel Core i5-6200U processor with speeds of above 2.3 GHz. The RAM for this will be above 4GB and a ROM of around 1TB is required for the large volumes of information.
