Was health care reform delayed until 2015?
No, there was no health reforms delayed until 2015 (Catuccio,2013). It is only one piece of the health care that wasdelayed, which is called Payer play penalty and it only affectscompanies that have over fifty employees. There were required to paythe penalty if they did not offer affordable benefits in 2014.
Why did I getcompliance document (HIPAA and COBRA documents)? Do I really need tohave this since the practice is providing benefits?
Compliance document is very critical because it is used to verifynames and address of a company. It consists of an identificationdocument, address document, and company registration document if theaccount owner is a company (Clicksure,n.d). Further, one of the Financial Service commissionrequirements is that every account holder should provide accuratedetails.
I heard thatthere is a Nursing Mothers Act. Is that true? What is the NursingMothers Act?
Yes, it is true there is a Nursing Mothers Act. It states thatemployers should give a reasonable break to nursing mothers and adesignated place to express breast milk for their young ones one yearafter they give birth (Catuccio,2013). In addition, it requires them to have arefrigerator where these mothers can store their milk. There alsoneed to have a written policy that consists of the guidelines.
If I decide toleave current employee health care plan, can I get coverage throughhealth care reform?
Yes. If a company drops health insurance coverage or shift fromemployer-sponsored insurance, the health care reform definitelychanges the employee’s value coverage. Besides, the benefits andthe economy of the workforce is change. According to Singhal,Stueland, and Ungerman, (2011), heath care reformstates how employees values health insurance as compensation andemployer-sponsored medical benefits. Regardless of an individualmedical status, the law guarantees a right to health insurance. Itemployers the moral obligation to cover even the sickest employee whois likely to be denied insurance benefits.
